Specimen notes
Public Note:
FeSO4 salmon, guaiac negative. No taste. cremeochracea? With lamullae. But why not multicystidiata from same site? [JAC Aug2010] Cap tissue SV-ve. Cap a gelatinised cutis. No cap cystidia seen, just a few cylindrical; septate terminal hyphae. 4-spored. Cystidia in patches, then frequent, refractive in KOH. Spores with amyloid spot. Spores (exc apiculus, including ornamentation) length=9.1–11.5µm (µ=9.8, σ=0.8), width=8.2–10.4µm (µ=9.0, σ=0.8), Q=1.0–1.1µm (µ=1.1, σ=0.0), n=7. Spores size and cystidia are closer to multicystidiata than cremeochracea. Material with Pat 20/1/2011. Returned Feb. Revised to australis. This does not key out as australis because spores are subglobose. Repeat spore measurements. Keys to ramekaiensis but can't find details of this. [JAC Sept 2011] only R. albolutescens has spores like this (and australis to some extent) but cap edge is wrong. Gills have dried pink not orange. Definitely SV-ve, just a very few very pale grey cystidia.
