Specimen notes
Public Note:
Cap sticky, edge ridged. KOH and NH4OH no reaction. FeSO4 pale salmon/brown, guaiac pale grey green (negative). Stem mild. Gills mild - definitely. No lamellulae, basal interveining. No Nothofagus in this area. Cap without dermatocystidia visible in SV. McNabb's description of R.cremeoochracea has non-pectinate edge and lamellulae. This is a mild acrolamellata-like taxon with tea-tree. PL:"Another collection of R. australis. Note highly reticulate spores like a Lactarius." As usual, need to verify australis/allochroa distinction. Images and sizes of spores. No lamellulae would not make this allochroa/austrais (not compacta/lactarioides). with print.
