no sclerotium. To 1.5cm tall. Unbranched stipe tapering to a point, lower half fertile, upper with cystidia, tip smooth. Entirely white. No tissue amyloid or dextrinoid. 4-spored, length=9.2\endash10.6µm (µ=9.8, σ=0.4), width=3.5\endash4.2µm (µ=4.0, σ=0.2), Q=2.2\endash3.0µm (µ=2.5, σ=0.2), n=9, with skeletal (thick walled) hyphae, with strangulated cystidia. Corner 1950 to Tasmanian P. phyllophila. Petersen has note against a TENN collection 044092 of P. phyllophila from Coromandel that he says is his 'taxon 1'. But the original description of Clavaria phyllophila is a multi-branched taxon.
