Specimen notes
Public Note:
cap no reaction with KOH. Taste and smell mealy. Spore print white. Spores inamyloid rugulose/angular, basidia not siderophilous, spore content cyanophilous, no cystidia, without clamps, cap a cutis with small amount of extra-cellular encrustation, single layered. Gills quite thick and tough. With these spores this must be Rhodocybe even tho spore print is most definitely white. Spores 7.8-8.3(8.1) SD0.2 n= 7 (including apiculus) x 5.3-6.4(6) SD0.3 n= 8. No hymenial pseudocystidia coloured in KOH present. Bandoni's section decurentes. Cap not reddish colour in KOH (mundula if so), spores distinctly undulate and not opaque/greyish in KOH (hyaline) - R. semiarboricola known from Argentina and Egon's ammophila from PNG. Not either - this more robust in stipe and spores larger and paler. Spores too large for R. popinalis, otherwise similar. Same as PL560515.
