Specimen notes
Public Note:
arising from spherical primordium. Leaving radially fringed hairy basal patch but no disk. Hoary coat on cap. No juice. No elastic thread. Stem not slimy, with caulocystidia. Cap covering strongly diverticulate but without vesiculose elements. Spores cylindrical, amyloid, gill edge concolorous, cap, gill & stem tissue vinaceous dextrinoid, cheilocystidia vesiculose and apically diverticulate, around 15-25um long. Spore 7.3-9.2(8.6) SD0.5 n=13 x 3.8-4.7(4.2) SD0.3 n= 14, Q=2. Caulocystidia diverticulate, no hairs, hyphae otherwise smooth. The distinct basal fringed pad (not clear in photo) makes this close to stylobates but cystidia wrong, but leave it here for the time being.
