Specimen notes
Public Note:
perhaps two species present (a few apothecia with red crystals on hairs) but most apothecia seem to have yellow crystals or no crystals. Micro images from one with ?no crystals - these microcharacters appear to match L. pteridophyllum. ITS seems to have a couple of the unique L. varians snps, so perhaps it was one of the apothecia with red crystals that was sequenced. Another apothecium with red crystals was examined, the morphology matched Lachnopsis sp. 'brown crystals', so perhaps at least three species present on this specimen?
