Specimen notes
Public Note:
Spores germinated well and consistently on agar plates, but most stopped growth after 2-3 days. Two of the spores isolated continued to grow, very dark cultures with restricted growth, strongly convoluted surface to colony. Most ascospores germinate with single, unbranched germ tube from one end of spore (36 hours), occassionally a shorter tube from other end of spore as well.
Public Note:
Sequences indicate this is actually a Rhizosphaera and the 'Mycosphaerella' probably a Phaeocryptopus teleomorph.
