Specimen notes
Public Note:
taste bitter. Long rooting stem. Not sure if on buried wood or not. With veilar remnants around cap edge. With abundant chryso pleurocystidia. Spores with germ-pore, 4-spored. 6.5-7.7(7.1) SD0.4 n=6 x 3.8-4.9(4.3) SD0.3 n=6. Pleurocystidia 29.5-37(33) SD3 n=5 x 7.1-8.2(7.8) SD0.5 n=5. Same as 10032. Incidentally H. frowardii is P. subflammans for Singer but Egon decided that was a missapplication. This is pictured in in Hongos Patgonica. This has been going under the name of H. sublateritium in NZ. Gen Gates says the S. American sp looks different. Note that WA has close H. australe. Also note that gills in this taxon have the yellow/green colour of Hypholoma, but H. frowardii described as grey/olive. This collection with furry stem?
