Specimen notes
Public Note:
aromatic?! Spore print purple-brown. spores length=8.0–9.4µm (µ=8.7, σ=0.48), width=5.2–6.1µm (µ=5.5, σ=0.29), Q=1.4–1.7µm (µ=1.57, σ=0.08), n=14. stem long relative to type. This has same cheilocystidia as type of D. nz but also has cylindrical glassy pleurocystidia (which the type subsequently found to have also). None are yellow in KOH but do stain in patent blue, like the type. This in Ramirez-Cruz Deconica section chrysocystidiatae but this is not obviously chrysocystidiate. I am convinced this material is Deconica nz and the type has uncharacteristically short stem.
