Public Note:
E(Violet, purple or magenta dominant), I(Stipe with green, violet, purple, pink, red or dark red colours, sometimes faint.), K(Taste mild), M(Taste mild), N(under Nothofagus species). Closer to size of R. griseoviolacea than jac10854. DCY SV-ve (but exuding red pigment). Cap with thick-walled, septate hairs, tinted in KOH, to 200um long, arising from spherical cells. cap with a distinct epicutis of isodiametric cells, 200um deep. Macrocystidia sparse. Spores with plage and violet spot. Spores length=8.3–9.5µm (µ=8.9, σ=0.43), width=6.6–8.5µm (µ=7.6, σ=0.49), Q=1.1–1.3µm (µ=1.17, σ=0.06), n=20, ornamentation to 1um. This does not have the spines of the type of griseoviolacea but, of McNabb's types, only griseoviolacea has hairs of this kind. Material to Pat 05/12
