Public Note:
cap black in KOH. With yellow/gold cortina at cap perimeter. Taste mild. Spore print rusty tawny - snuff brown. With veilar remnants at cap edge. Sub-pellis gelatinised. Pellis strongly zebra encrusted. With chryso pleuro and cheilocystidia. Some cheilocystidia with yellow encrustation in KOH. Spores smooth, ellipsoid, without germ pore, thick walled. 7.7-8.4(9) SD0.2 x 4.5-4.9(4.7) SD0.1 Clamps present. A smooth spored Gymnopilus, or a pored Pholiota? Spore colour more consistent with Pholiota. See also Egon's ZT4344 as Pholiota sp. See also Tubaria (Phaeomarsmius) aureosimilis.
