Specimen notes
Public Note:
Ian Dickie's ID 5246. Cap sticky, pale. Gills flecked with white cystidia under stereo. Stem powdered with caulocystidia along entire length. Stem with base marginate, bulbous and with remains of volval sac. Cystidia metuloid (thickness=2.5–4.6µm (µ=3.7, σ=0.9) at apex) and crystal encrusted. Caulocystidia in clusters with smaller spherical cells. 4-spored, length=7.2–8.8µm (µ=8.0, σ=0.6), width=4.5–5.6µm (µ=5.0, σ=0.3), Q=1.4–1.8µm (µ=1.6, σ=0.1), n=10, clamps not seen, cheilo and pleurocystidia identical. Smaller paracheilocystidia amongst basidia. Stem 5-6cm x 5-8mm. Despite smaller spores and thicker stem this has to be scissa rather than poculata because of sticky cap and shape of cystidia. Requires comparison with I. sylvicola
