Specimen notes
Public Note:
spores without pedicels, capillitium brown, sparsley branched, cells of stem base broad 1-2mm, spores delicately verrucose. L. perlatum was not included in Kruger's 2003 work - why not? Morganella/Lycoperdon compactum is more globose, in forests, on wood, and has strong deciduous spines 3-4mm long and deciduous. This confirmed as L. perlatum. This is the type of the genus but is within a separate clade. If the rest of Lycoperdon is not to be split then Vascellum must be included within Lycoperdon
