cap with metuloid encrusted elongate cystidia. Tissue clamped. With quite large gloeosphex cheilocystidia. Spores 7.8-9.2(8.6) SD0.5 n=8 x 5.0-6(5.3) SD0.4 n=8. Differing from BFF desciption of H. culmicola in smaller spores and smooth cap. Nordeloos drawing and web images show a distinclty stipitate taxon. So although I'd like this to be H. culmicola I strongly suspect it isn't [confirmed by later neotype] Nevertheless this looks like the taxon I remember from 20 years ago collected with Elymus at Redcar. Sequence says this is H. luteola?
