Specimen notes
Public Note:
Stem to 3cm. Spores 8.7+-0.4x4.4+-0.5um, cheilocystidia with broom cells (to 15um long x 5um). The descriptions of filiformis and procera and substipitaria seem very similar other than overall size of the fruitbody and habitat. This collection fits exactly with filiformis. There is a single collection in PDD also on Beilschmedia. The type material is sparse. If there is a microscopic difference then it is that the cheilocystidia on filiformis are not branched and are simple fingers compared with procera. C. substipitaria also on Beilschmedia leaves is said to have cheilos 25-30x5 and much broader spores. Examination of the type does not corroborate the spore measurements and they fall within the range of this collection and the type of C. filiformis. Sequence indicates this is not the same as C. procera and is more closely related to C. scabra.
