Specimen notes
Public Note:
Fan shaped/spathulate - transitional, with pseudostipe. Gills visibly speckled with dark cystidia. Spores weakly amyloid. 4-spored 7.5x4.5um. Cystidia with thick walls - to 5um. Both hyaline and brown present. Usual nematode beaked cheilocystidia. Possible gelatinous layer along gill edge. Cap with pilocystidia. Distinction between petalodes and metuloidea seems slim - main difference is cylindrical spores of latter.
