Specimen notes
Public Note:
cap 3.5mm diam. Stem 3.5cm. Stem with caulocystidia top to bottom. Stem attachment more or less glabrous, not insiticious, maybe a few fibrils. Stem with clear fluid when cut but not 'bleeding'. Stem tissue dextrinoid, caulocystidia lageniform, clustered, trama not dextrinoid, spores 9x5.5 weakly amyloid or inamyloid, 2-spored, cheilocystidia numerous, lageniform. Pleurocystidia absent, unclamped, elastic pellicle, no elastic thread on gill edge. Seems to agree with European descriptions of M. speirea. The only discrepancy is the stem base. Single specimen only. Not sufficient to sequence and must remain unconfirmed.
