with distinct lateral stem. Primordia without veil. Cap edge inrolled. Cap tomentose. Gills white then grey (not cream). Cap sepia. Basidiome rubbery. Has metuloid cystidia but not obvious through dissecting scope. Cap surface strongly gelatinised and with pale sinuous cystidia. With pilogloeosphex cystidia and a few inflated thin-walled vesicles. Tissue clamped. Spores inamyloid length=7.1–8.6µm (µ=7.7, σ=0.44), width=4.6–5.5µm (µ=5.0, σ=0.26), Q=1.3–1.7µm (µ=1.54, σ=0.09), n=24. 4-spored. Metuloid cystidia to 100 x 15um, cheilocystidia with multiple barbs. Looks like northen hemisphere H. mastrucata. Sequences says near H. leiospora.
