Specimen notes
Public Note:
scales close adpressed, yellowing on bruising but eventually becoming red/brown. Flesh white, tasteless, not changing colour, schaeffer negative, ring hanging.NM2 vaporarius/subperonatus. Mitchell has subperonatus for NZ based on a single specimen. For capelli this is a double veiled taxon, flesh immediately red on cutting and spores less round than vaporarius. Vap spores = 6-7 x 5.5-6 (Q=1.1-1.2), suppero = 6-7.5 x 4.5-5.5um. (Q=1.3-1.4) Spores in this collection are not roundish Q=1.6? For FAN5 they are synonyms. ITS says close to secotioid A. eburneocanus. A. lanipes sensu NZ? 2017 - covered in white growth. CC absent or basidiolar. 2 & 4 spored. Across spores sizes length=9.3–13.3µm (µ=10.7, σ=0.81), width=5.3–7.3µm (µ=6.1, σ=0.41), Q=1.5–2.0µm (µ=1.77, σ=0.13), n=33
