Specimen notes
Public Note:
fibrillose cap. Marginate bulb. No smell. Stem with pale lilac tinge, on drying stem striate+pruinose against dark background - looking steel grey/blue from a distance. Spores knobbly 8-10 x 6-8um. metuloid cystidia to 28um diam. but mostly around 20. Wall thickness 4-4.5um at apex. Horak original keys to avellana, leptospermi, scissa and I originally identified as avellana. Velipellis doesn't seem to be present. Not scissa as doesn't have nearly globose cheilocystidia. Horak NZ flora manuscript keys to leptospermi, poculata, scissa - not avellana as metuloid wall too thin.
