Specimen notes
Public Note:
without inflated elements in trama. Hairs with smooth whip-like end (which we must assume is not a phylogenetically useful character), clamped. With hymenial cystidia. 4-spored. Spores length=7.2–10.1µm (µ=8.6, σ=0.82), width=3.1–4.0µm (µ=3.6, σ=0.25), Q=1.9–3.1µm (µ=2.40, σ=0.29), n=20. Hairs unbranched (or very infrequently at base). Sequences say this is near Cyphella digitalis/Cheimonophyllum. This is most definitely not Agerer's Incrustocalyptella (although the type needs examination) because that does not have whip-like hairs and it is profusely branched. However it is not fully consistent with Cunningham's Flagelloscypha either as that has broader spores and without hymenial cystidia. On balance I will stick with the Cunningham species. I hope we don't have three similar species on Pseudopanax.
