Public Note:
Singly; height 8-11.5 cm; pileus: 6-7 cm diam. convex or nearly plane with margin turned down. Surface with thick red-brown jelly layer, thinner near margin. Younger caps with radial blue-violet fibrils under the jelly, centre red brown, becoming generally browner and duller with age. Flesh dirty whitish, with a grey layer immediately below the jelly; stipe: 8-10 mm diam. at gills, slightly tapering upwards; blue-violet striate with white above the veil trace, paler violet and white below, with a few loose brownish fibrils on surface, lower part white, surface slippery. Flesh fibrous, tinged blue-violet in upper 2/3, white at base. Tending hollow in upper part; gills: sinuately adnate, blue violet; fairly deep, long and short, fairly thick and substantial, becoming reddish brown as spore mature.
