Public Note:
Singly; pileus: to 9 cm diam. moist dark maroon to purplish-black in centre fading to pale pinkish at margin. Surface with dry pale mauve or blueish patches irregularly arranged. Striate and with lines of irregular warts near margin. Flesh unchanging white. Shape - shallowly depressed; stipe: 2cm x 6cm tapering to base. Surface white near gills then with pale mauve or lavender flush, surface with minute roughness pattern of the Russula type. Flesh solid, continuous with cap, white; gills: white, adnexed, thick, occasionally forked but mostly all long; spores print white.
