Spore print from same species, Kauri Glen 1/5/72; small specimen up on knoll over the river, old one near Hut on near side of river; pileus: 7 cm diam. convex with depressed centre, becoming completely convex in age. Young - centre dk. purple velvety, outer part paler and mottled with lilac-mauve and green. Old - becoming generally bleached with faded yllow and paler lilac and green mottling. Flesh white, homogeneous with stipe; stipe: 1.5 cm x 5 cm, tapered downwards, whitish or very pale creamy with dimpled surface pattern. Flesh white, tending to break down into hollows in centre. White mycelium at base; gills: adnexed, pale with faint apricot tinge, all long, not very crowded, with lateral wrinkling near attachment to cap.
