Public Note:
on Compost heap of deciduous leaves from introduced trees; height to 15 cm, pileus: hemispheric, 7.5 - 8 cm diam., white, becoming creamy white when old. Surface smooth, dull, like chamois leather. Some minute concentric cracks in skin near margin. Flesh thick, white, dense; stipe: 1.8 cm at top. Possibly hollow, possibly distinct from cap, but insect damage makes this uncertain. Lower ring more massive and split into star-like rays, upper one with a jagged margin where torn from the cap. Copious white mycelium binding the litter together at the base; gills: free, with gap between their inner edge and the stipe. White, very crowded, long and short, free margin jagged. Fawnish tinge, esp. in age; spores: print not obtained, probably white.
