"Slippery blue and orange Cortinarius"; singly and twos, white rhizomorphs present, height 8.5 cm; pileus: 5.5 cm diam. convex umbonate, covered with slimy layer, orange and thicker at umbo, skin below fibrillose, blue - violet and pale, flesh whitish; stipe: 11 mm at gills, tapered upwards, bulbous and rooting at base, white with blue-violet striae, covered with slippery colourless slime, white arachnoid veil; flesh blueish, fibrous, hollow; gills: sinuate, blue-violet - orange with spores. White serrate margin; spores: print orange-brown, 11-12 µ x 7-7.5 µ, very rough, warty
