Singly and twos, height: 6 cm; pileus: 3 cm diam. hemispheric then convex umbonate. Smooth moist surface, even at first, then faintly fibrillose, bright, hard yellow - towards a greenish tinged sulphur yellow - Flesh yellowish, watery looking; stipe: 7 mm at top widening downwards then pointed at base. Copious yellow rhizomorphs holding tog. a clump of roots and litter. yellow cobweb veil leaving brownish fibrils near margin of cap and on stipe. Surface yellow and flesh yellowish. Flesh solid and watery looking, homog. with cap. Striate surface, brownish red marks in age and on handling; gills: sinuate, bright yellow, long and short, margin serrate; Spores: print yellow-brown; 8.5-9 µ x 5 µ, Wall faintly granular.
