In roadside grasses, under willow and white backed poplar; Height: to 12 cm; singly; cap: 4.5 cm diam. smooth pale fawn and darker or more reddish at umbo, margin curled under and with pieces of white membrane esp. in young specimens. Campanulate and later more expanded. Flesh very thin; stipe: 4 mm at top, tapered upwards, easily removed from cap. Slightly striate, very pale fawn and shining. Flesh white,hollow. Base with white cottonwool; gills: free or adnexed,long and short, mod. crowded. Pale fawnish or whitish, with dark margin, later powdery black, blotchy from the spores; spore print black
