Specimen notes
Public Note:
small mycena smelling nitrous. With around 6 gills, gill edge oncolorous, no latex, no separable gill edge. Drying yellow. Stipe attached to wood by strigose hairs. Spores strongly amyloid. Cap not granular/floccose, a cutis, no subcuticular hymeniderm. Stem & cap hyphae not dextrinoid. Spores variable, cylindrical with apiculus 10 x 4um. Not really a Mycena but what else? 9938 looks macroscopically similar. comes out in 'atheniellaceae' next to 'waiohine gorge' (same as?), scytinotis, mycopan, atheniella etc. Phylogenetically this is not anywhere near Mycena sessu stricto. Nothing close in Grgurinovic
