Specimen notes
Public Note:
stem withouit prominent bulb (but with hyphal knot). Stem fibrillose but only pruinose at apex. Spores cruciate 11.5 x 8.5um, without germ-pore. Smell earthy. Cheilocystidia vesiculose, without crystals. The combination of very distinctive spores and cheilocystidia without crystals indicates this is Horak's Cucispora naucorioides. Sequence data indicate it is related to, but phylogenetically probably not congeneric with Cyclocybe. Hongo's Pseedoconocybe has spores with germ pores, as does Paneolina rhombispora (at least according to Noordeloos, bur not Horak). The lack of germ-pore fits with Cyclocybe. Certainly nowhere near Cystoagaricus, as postulated. Known from PNG and, the Au records (Pat/Sapphire) are possible.
