Apothecia a broad felty green, with little if any stalk, to 10 mm in diameter; ectal excipulum with perpendicular hairs with capitate (clavate to subglobose) apical cells (this feature is characteristic of C. torta). Paraphyses not described. Asci 125 X 7 µm (spore portion 65 µm, stipe portion 60 µm) – n=1. Ascospores one and two-celled 10-11 X 2.5-3.5 µm (n=8).
