Public Note:
spores inamyloid, not dextrinoid, no metuloids, spores allantoid, no veil, spores 8.3 x 3.7um. Cap consistently brown, fasciculate. Strigose white hyphae at base, no sign of coremia. Caps to 12 cm wide. BFF6 to ostreatus. Gills greyish and fruitbody texture elastic but not rubbery. Cap cuticle (peeling) a trichoderm, surface hyphae with banded encrustation. Basidia 28-36 x 5um (ostreatus 25-35/5-6.5 in BFF, 30-40x5-6 FAN2, purpureo 37-40 x 6-8). Segedin to purpureoolivaceous on basis of hyphae encrustation. Not seen this before on non-native wood.
