Specimen notes
Public Note:
with sclerotium immersed in host. Occasionally multiple fruitbodies from one sclerotium. No cystidia on club. Spores allantoid 8.3 x 3.3um. Sclerotium content gelatinized, spores amyloid, stipe cortex with gelatinous outer layer (lots of particles stuck to it) and bearing subulate hair-like cystidia thickened at the base. Subgenus cnazonaria. T. spathulata group. This keys to Berthier's T. erumpens but better placed in T. setipes s.lat. for the moment.
