Specimen notes
Public Note:
dark mycena on wood. Slimy cap, translucent stem. Cap to 2cm, stem 2mm. No juice, no smell, no basal disc, attached by strigose hairs. Spores thin-walled, amyloid, 8-15 (8.5) x 5-6um but very variable, q=1.8 4-spored, pileipellis a cutis, without ornamentation, partially gelatinzed. Cheilocystidia complex, collapsing, gill edge concolorous. Grgurinovich to section Fragilipedes and then to australiana (albidofusca discounted) or sectiion Mycena and then subnigra. Neither of these sufficiently striate. M. yuulongicola a possibility. Discounted previous id as M.helminthobasis var NZ (a persistent Leonard misid) as that centrally umbilicate. I'm not sure where concept of M.h. as a striate conical capped mycena came from.
