black stem with cystidia and reduced gills. May have cystidia on cap that washed off? Yes - evidence for capitate gloeocystidia with brown contents on cap (as well as obvious and profuse on stem). cap glossy/lacquered - even when dried. Caulocystidia capitate and brown fusiform, cheilocystidia exuding copious quantities of brown oil into Melzers'. Spores 8.3. [2012] material in packet is G. phormiorum on Phormium! This section of Gloiocephala is a bit away from sensu stricto (with rhzomarasmius)
