Public Note:
Dried has a strong fenugreek smell (supposed to be aniseed!). Spores spiny, amyloid, to 4-5um, basidia 6 x 17um. This separated from niger on basis of smaller basidia it seems to me (for Geesteranus its dimitic tissue in stipe base and grey rather than white tomentum on cap).
