Specimen notes
Public Note:
hyphae clamped, spores 8um with spines to 3.5um (large!). NB McNabb quotes spore size inclusive of spines. It is worth noting that Australian use of the name L. masoniae seems to date from Stevenson's confused concept, but even so it is hard to see how they managed to apply this name to something that looks entirely different. Sequences indicate that Australian 'masonie' and sp.A, both with Nothofagus, are in different sequence clades to any Nothofagus Laccaria from New Zealand.
