Specimen notes
Public Note:
white flesh, dark brown cap. Not blueing and not with Leptospermum so not T. brunneus. Sequences say this is not the same as jac10910, PDD72637 & PDD72885. sp2 appears to have a bigger notch between pores and stem, and less pink pores, darker stem and dark purplish brown cap, #1 has paler stem (top or bottom) and sometimes chocolate brown cap and confused with T. brunneus, which blues. Spores should be bigger in brunneus but measurements indicate too variable. Spores here length=11.8–14.3µm (µ=12.9, σ=0.70), width=4.2–5.0µm (µ=4.6, σ=0.20), Q=2.6–3.1µm (µ=2.83, σ=0.18), n=20. Spores similar between 1 &2. Biggest difference between 9319 and 13345 is thta this has minutely furfuraceous cap and the pilocystidia dense and distinctive. Character needs checking in other #1 collections (to make sure it is absent). This material conforms to the type.
