Specimen notes
Public Note:
dark red cap, stem with pink fibrils running in vertical strips (violaceous, furfuraceous on drying), FeSO4 salmon. Taste mild but acidulous. Gills have purple edge. Doesn't key. PL:"This is R. macrocystidiata. The pleurocystidia are thick walled and the pileipellis and spores are good for this species too.". Does this have a transient amyloid cap tomentum like 10527? Need to distinguish thick-walled cystidia from R. tawai. Sequence failed. Hairs to 130um x 5um, without inflated bases, branched. Amyloid basal layer. SV-ve. No granules. Exuding red pigment. Keys to atroviridis? Repeat sequence.
