Specimen notes
Public Note:
To 3.5cm, multifurcate, vinaceous grey, paler at tips. Smell & taste indistinct. On soil and wood under Nothofagus. Under dissecting microscope the fruitbodies appear felty (with cystidia?). In KOH thin 'cystidial hyphae', 2um, with brownish oily to granular contents. Spores smooth ellipsoid to 9-10 x 7 um. Long projecting cylindrical (basidia-like) cystidia also present, and clamped (creating felty appearance) 75 x 10um, these breaking off. Trama dimitic, clamped. Basidia 40um long, 2-sterigmate. The brown granules are not mentioned in Petersen's description. Nearer to leveillula/hispidulosa than C. brunneocinerea
