Public Note:
Cap 7-9cm hazel to date brown, silky and more fibrillose to centre, not pellucid striate. Stem up 2.5 x 10cm thickned towards base, fasciculate, white with longitudinal brown fibrils. Gills ventricose, concolorous edge, D. Dried gills cinnamon. Cap drying shiny smooth. Cap hyphae filamentous to 13um wide with intracellular brown pigment, quite hard to distinguish, oliferous hyphae abundant. Cheilo and pleurocystidia hooked 65um long. Spores 8.5 x 5 ellipsoid but variable in shape. Some cheilocystidia un-hookde and thin-walled. This agrees in every respect with P. cervinus not recorded from NZ. However given man-made habitat on wood chips this isn't a surprising find.
