Specimen notes
Public Note:
Reduced conidiophores. Hyphopodia are present but not clear if these belong with this taxon. Conidia pseudoseptate. This places the taxon in the Linkosia seggregate from Sporidesmium acc Wenping. Related genera are Stanjhughesia, Linkosia and Janetia. S & J are euseptate (except J. longispora & S. hamatiella). S & L are lignicolous, J is folicolous (except J. curviapices). J also mixture of polyblastic and monoblastic (and has more euseptate members). Distinction between Linkosia and Janetia insufficient so will leave in Janetia on basis of most characters in that genus. Nothing in Goh & Hyde's key. Nearest is Gamundi's bacilliformis but not that. Conidia coiling, to 500um long. Seems to have major and minor pseudosepta and to 9um diam. Sp. nov.? Seems identical to Ceratophorum mauiense which Castaneda transferred to Inesiosporium, but doesn't feel right. New record for NZ.
