Specimen notes
Public Note:
Spores rough, 10.0um. No sterile cells on gill edge. Cap viscid when wet but drying silky, 15-50mm, brown vinaceous. Stem to 7cm x 7mm equal, silky striate, fasciculate. Gills fulvous. Stem vinaceuos grey at apex. Cortina sparse. Cap context brown. Stem hollow. KOH negative. Smell like 'old gramophone records'! Keys to C. chalybaeus but this under beech and has violaceous gills. LSU near PDD72786.101841,101872 as kaimanawa which are not near type of kaimanawa - check ITS and morphology, current ids perhaps wrong. ITS same as pdd94036 as C. australis
