Specimen notes
Public Note:
conidia distinctly flat, 3 arms, sometimes unequal, 20um x 15um, fuscous, sporodochial. Ho et al, 2000 key for cheiroid genera leads to Dictyosporium. sp. nov. ICMP culture later failed to grow. The 3 features distinguishing Cheirosporium according to x are: rhexolytic, sterile branches, macronematous. This has rhexolytic secession and semi-micronematous conidiophores with branching and no sign of the two sterile setae (in culture or on natural substrate). Despite the lack of the crucial setae the very close morphological similarity of this to C. triseriale must make it the same genus.Feb 2018 - ICMP culture dead and de-accessioned.
