Specimen notes
Public Note:
couldn't find clamps. culture has clamps tho. ITS Comes out in Hypochnicium in polonense/zealandicum clade but alongside B. candicans (partial overlap). The NJ tree using Tellaria (Mycologia 102, 1426) sequences and using the same outgroup supports Paulus analysis and not that of Tellaria. I-C in the tree represents Nodotia (but clade includes type of Hypochnicium), IB represents Gyraphanopsis and clade II, the rough spored species, are worthy of separate generic recognition. In which case Gyrophanopsis apears to be a later synonym of Bulbillomyces - on sequence evidence at least.
