This apears to be first record for NZ. Reported to MAF 2/07/2010
Not my specialist group but this identification seems reasonable. [August 2011] monomitic, clamped, with leptocystidia, spores inamyloid, clumped length=8.3-9.0µm (µ=8.7, σ=0.4), width=4.7-5.6µm (µ=5.2, σ=0.4), Q=1.6-1.8µm (µ=1.68, σ=0.07), n=3. See Bernichia Corticiaceae of Europe, Fungi Europeaea. Molecular data in lit places this taxon in the physalacriaceeae next to Physalcaria and Armillaria. According to Greslebin (Flora criptogamica de Tierra del Fuego) the known distribution is Africa, China, India, Iran, Nepal, Taiwan, Europe, North America, Argentina. Sequences indicate there is an unamed species in NZ (Hood & Paulus) but notes say it has smaller spores than C. evolvens. Spores in this collection are correct. [2021] sequence data indicates a small but consistent difference between evolvens and laeve
