Specimen notes
Public Note:
gill edge fertile, spores 5.5x3.5um, ellipsoid, no germ pore. Cap clay/vinaceous buff with vinaceous centre, smooth. Cap slightly inrolled 2-5cm Smell pleasant, aniseed, flesh yellow/orange turning slowly. Stem white, hollow, 0.7-1cm x 5-7cm, base bulbous. Ring pendant, thin. KOH orange in stem, none in cap (but specimen now 1 day old). Initially though it was a cortinarious! Nothing from Mitchell & Walter fits.
