Specimen notes
Public Note:
Cap 4-7cm flabellate. Upper surface with dense tomentum date brown with tomentum (?) towards pont of attachment. Cap edge inrolled, stem lacking or extremely reduced, spores brown, gills f-g, taste mild - slightly acrid. Fleshy, thin gelatinous layer under brown cap hyphae. Spores globose, verrucose 5.5-6.2(5.8). Good material for sequencing - lots of it. This clearly Egon's taxon, and a richer red/brown than fulvifibrillosus var. meristocystis which does seem to be in NZ.
