Public Note:
Cap 1.8-3cm diam., flat to umbonate with radially arranged squamules, dry, cinnamon to rusty tawny at centre. Gills H to fulvous, gill edge paler, adnate. Stem 1.8-2.5cm x 4mm, cylindrical, hollow, pale at apex, squamulose banding increasing to base. Taste slightly acrid. Smell none. Cap a clamped cutis with extra-cellular pigment. Spores cinnamon, no germ pore, thick-walled, smooth length=8.0–8.7µm (µ=8.3, σ=0.3), width=5.0–5.5µm (µ=5.2, σ=0.2), Q=1.5–1.7µm (µ=1.6, σ=0.1), n=10. Cheilo/Pleurocystidia large and pyramidal. Some cystidia with yellow inclusion and external crust, but yellow in water mount - not chrysocystidia.
