Public Note:
ITS is Descomyces sp. 'white' but LSU is Cortinarius and does not agree with LSU other collections for this taxon. One possibility is that the collection is mixed. The larger frbs have a dark brown gleba and typical Descomyces spores. A much smaller frb has a yellow gleba and spores perhaps more like Cortinarius. The LSU is near/same as 'Cortinarius' novaezelandiae=Thaxterogaster ohauensis, although the spores for this species are quite different. The other possibility is a sample swap. Either way, the deposited LSU for this collections should be disregarded.
